Governance of Religions
Concentration on the socio-political and socio-legal aspects of governance of religious diversity and religious freedom in public life is the focus of the second thematic area. Different areas of analysis will be considered including international/national courts, state and municipal administrations and faith communities within various social, cultural and political contexts. We will offer theoretical frameworks and methods of research on the topics of comparative analysis of multiculturalist policies; post-conflict societies and religion; religious and political conflicts; religious fundamentalism and political theology; state-religion relations and structural pluralism; political secularism and religious discrimination; the juridification of religion and legal culture; legal status of religious communities; legal norms and religion in public schools/hospitals/courts; religion at the workplace; permissible limitations of religious freedom; and freedom of/from religion and intersecting rights.
